Pre High School Counseling

Students and their parents should not concentrate on or think much about college admission. What parents and students should do is try to make the most of the high school years by planning a four year strategy to ensure the student has a rewarding high school experience that will potentially offer the student an opportunity to select the right college based on their interests, talents, and successes.

Services include:

  • A meeting with student and parents the summer before entering high school to explore academic and extracurricular opportunities. Outline a four year plan, select appropriate freshman year courses.
  • January meeting to review academic progress and extracurricular choices.
  • An early spring meeting to discuss academic progress, review four year plan, consider and plan summer opportunities.

Initial Assessment

This is an opportunity for high school students to decide if they would like to participate in a year long program. This assessment includes two meetings with students and parents, the first meeting to bring together all the needed information and the second to review the information and provide recommendations based on the students grade level, performance, and goals.

Problem Solving

This is a one time meeting for students facing difficult choices and decisions in the college admissions process. A minimum of a one consultation is provided. Students should have their record of academic performance, test scores and extracurricular activities available for review.

Note: If, during the academic year, students would like to work with us, the fess for the Initial Assessment and/or the Problem Solving meeting would be applied to the cost of the year long service.
